Tamela Mann banks her record-tying seventh No. 1 on Billboard‘s Gospel Airplay chart, as “Touch From You” ascends 3-1 on the list dated Dec. 5. The song gained by 19% in plays in the week ending Nov. 29, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

Mann, who last led with “Change Me” for 14 weeks beginning in July 2017, matches the No. 1 sums of James Fortune (with songs billed on his own and with FIYA) and Kirk Franklin, dating to the chart’s March 2005 inception.

“I hope this song will touch people, especially during the pandemic and civil unrest across the nation,” Tamela says. “One part of the lyric goes, ‘Can you hear the voices of your people crying out?’ People are crying out for so many different things. They’re praying now more than ever. We need God’s touch. We need the Lord to send a cleansing. We need a refreshing. We need to know the Lord is with us.”
