ROBYN: I was born and raised in Fort Worth TX and still reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
ROBYN: ‘Come On Jesus’ is one of those cry out songs. It’s a praying song; a plea if you will. We all have “Come on” moments, and I added Jesus because I always invite and recognize Jesus in all of my affairs! With everything going on now with the Covid-19 pandemic, I feel like it was a good time to put out a song that can uplift and encourage the people.
ROBYN: I think the gospel industry is ever evolving and that there is more yet to be revealed especially from emerging Indie Artists. We have been afforded, more so in the pandemic, opportunities to be on somewhat of a leveled playing field and some of us have some incredible gifts and music waiting to be heard.
ROBYN: Kierra Sheard has really been the example of staying relevant, staying active and connected to her audience. She always finds a way to be before her fan base and have fun and work at the same time. She challenged me to look at my career in the same way and find new innovative ways to be an artist, entrepreneur and most importantly a servant, all at once.
ROBYN: I pride myself on taking the eclectic aspects of the music I listen to and formulating music meticulously, applying sounds differently to bring a fresh sound to gospel music.
ROBYN: “Come On Jesus “ is from a forthcoming EP to be released by the summer. The goal of the EP is to create sounds and music that all listeners can relate to. I want this music to inspire a movement of love, creativity and change for better.
ROBYN: My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” He knows my future and has my best interest at heart, and I can EXPECT that to be so! Which in turn holds me responsible in my faith trusting that He’s always looking out for me.
ROBYN: a foodie so I watch a lot of cooking videos and shows which is inspiring me to write a plant based cookbook specializing in simple and familiar meals since I am a self proclaimed cook! Currently, I’m taking lessons for piano from maestro Quennel Gaskin. I’m Doing more reading these days and I’m recently exploring Real Estate and Investing.
ROBYN: really inspired that I’ve been getting feedback from all over the country that people are enjoying the musicality as well as the relatability of the song. “Come on Jesus” is currently being played in The Carolinas, Houston, and an array of internet stations! My streaming is going up so more and more listeners are being exposed to the song.
