Rudy Currence Notches First Gospel Airplay No. 1 With ‘I Belong Here’

Rudy Currence achieves his first No. 1 on Billboard‘s Gospel Airplay chart as “I Belong Here” ascends 2-1 on the list dated Feb. 6. In the week ending Jan. 31, the song increased by 14% in plays, according to MRC Data.

“Belong,” which Currence wrote solo, is his second Gospel Airplay entry. “My Testimony” reached No. 18 in February 2018.

The Atlanta-based singer-songwriter, originally from Rock Hill, South Carolina, has penned songs for artists including two that he co-wrote on Lecrae’s 2012 album Gravity (the title track and “Lucky Ones,” featuring Currence). The set led Top Christian Albums for two weeks that September.
